The V'Throni are threatening
The Eurians are hiding something...
...and one by one sectors are going dark and no one knows why.

Real-time space combat with beautiful post-processing effects. Dozens of components, weapons, shields, armor, point-defense, build a ship to suit your chosen play style, a nimble strafing frigate, or close range brawler.

Trade ships ply their route, haulers move massive shipments, refineries refine, shipyards replace faction losses. The sector never sleeps, whether you're involved or not, marauders, incursions, raiders, smugglers, they keep going. Factions will repair their own ships, police their sector and unite against a common enemy.

But a little help goes a long way. Use your ship's tractor beam to tow stranded ships to safety where they will get repaired and continue their activities. Maintaining good reputation has huge benefits.

Spatial rifts and wormholes can lead to sectors with dead stars, and the only light available is what you bring with you. No one knows why these sectors are going dark. Survivors of these sectors utter strange ramblings about exotic alien life forms and other ... things.

The choice is yours whether to befriend the alien factions. You can learn alot from them through dialogue. They will also help you once you maintain at least neutral relations. Stranded? Call for repairs or tow. Under attack? Send a distress call. As long as a military or service ship is available and not busy doing other things like fighting the U'Guul, they will respond.

Use the starmap to decide your next destination. Unvisited sectors will yield no information outside of passive sensor range. Nearby sectors will reveal some insights about what is within through cosmic signatures. Radio, EM, Heat, Gravity.

This helps you determine whether to risk the jump now or wait until your better prepared. Sectors can contain wormholes or blackholes with strong gravitational pulls, on-going combat, or be completely empty. Analysing the signals return from your sensors will give you an idea of what awaits.

Explore

Explore the sector through stargates and wormholes.

Wormholes can be stable, unstable or ancient. Through unstable wormholes you can discover and map previously unknown sectors, there's also a chance those pocket sectors spawn additional wormholes, leading to deeper un-explored sectors. Although unstable wormholes can decay and go inactive, you can purchase technology to stabilise them permanently.

Make sure your ships is well provisioned for the journey!

Crafting & Survival

You can utilise crafting facilities both aboard a large space-port or in a more limited fashion aboard your ship. This ties directly into exploration and the feeling of a sail ship on a long expedition. If you run low on supplies while exploring, you can usually craft supplies from raw materials found on planets, or asteroids. This includes fuel, food/water, ammunition, spare parts. Everything you need to survive far away from port!

NPC Encounters

You can dialogue with the alien factions in similar fashion to Starflight 2! Useful information, clues, locations and much more are revealed through these interactions. Each race has their own unique way of communicating which filters through the translator in sometimes hilarious outputs.
